At TB Blast Cleaning, we specialise in vapour blasting for motorcycle engines, vintage car parts, classic bike components, and delicate aluminium or magnesium castings. Our in-house service restores rocker covers, crankcases, cylinder heads, engine casings, carburettors and exhaust systems to a like-new condition. The process removes corrosion, grime and old coatings without damaging the metal. This is not a mobile service. All vapour blasting is done at our Hailsham workshop.

BMW intake, vapour blasted.
Vapour blasting is far less abrasive than dry sandblasting. Water in the blast stream cushions the media, so there is no warping or pitting. Delicate engine components and soft alloys can be cleaned without harm, and the surface is left with a smooth satin finish.
Parts come out with a smooth, satin-like finish, which suits classic car and motorcycle components that need to look like new. Aluminium and steel come out even, without heavy etching, and ready for the next step.
The blast takes off years of corrosion, oxidation, grease and old paint. It clears rust from exhaust headers, carbon and oil from engine parts, and coatings that ordinary cleaning will not shift, without grinding the metal down.
The water flushes the abrasive and debris out as it works. No grit is left in carburettor passages or oil galleries. Parts come out clean, with no media embedded, and ready for reassembly, paint or powder coating.
Vapour blasting is dust-free. The water suppresses dust and degreases the part at the same time, so the component is cleaned and degreased in one step.
We restore engine cases, crankcases, cylinders, cylinder heads and rocker covers, from vintage motorcycles to modern bikes. Oxidation and oil staining come off, and gasket faces and threads are left intact. The parts look factory-fresh and are ready to rebuild.
Aluminium intake manifolds, engine blocks, gearbox casings and rocker covers can all be aqua blasted. Old paint, rust and grime come off cast iron and aluminium, including finned housings and magnesium alloy parts, without the damage a harsher blast can cause.
Carburettors and intakes are cleaned inside and out. Varnish, fuel residue and soot come out of the passages without grit left behind. The outside is brought back, and the jets and channels are clear before the carburettor is rebuilt.
Rusty headers, manifolds, heat shields and other steel or stainless parts can be brought back. Rust and carbon are taken off gently, which suits thin-walled exhaust parts and threaded fittings. They are left clean and ready for high-temperature coating, paint, or to be refitted.
Vintage magnesium engine covers, transmission cases and aluminium bellhousings need a careful blast. Oxidation and dirt come off without etching the surface or taking metal away, so rare parts stay within their original tolerances.
All vapour blasting is done in-house. We do not offer this as a mobile service. The equipment stays at the workshop so the finish is consistent.
For vapour blasting in Sussex, send photographs of the parts. We will clean motorcycle engine parts, classic car components and other metalwork, and leave them ready to paint, powder coat, or put straight back together.
On the bench

Open aluminium. Fins and threads stay. The face goes satin, not polished.

A matched pair. Even colour, stampings still readable.

Raised lettering stays sharp.

Body, springs and linkages cleaned together. Delicate parts, not a heavy blast.

A few pictures are enough for a quote. Cases, covers, carbs, heads, exhausts.

Deudneys Farm, Hailsham. The work stays in the workshop.
03
Same castings. Corrosion and old finish gone. Lettering still there.
